Child Sponsorship

Canadian immigration system architecture aims to reunion the family. Achieving this goal is basically accomplished through the Family sponsorship program.

You can sponsor your dependent or adopted child.Sponsored children can acquire Canadian permanent residence, permitting them to live in Canada indefinitely, attend college, access social services, and eventually transition to Canadian citizenship.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) approves the sponsorship between the dependent child and the parent (Permanent Resident of Canada or Canadian Citizens).

A child sponsorship application is a simple process whereby the Canadian citizen or permanent resident applies to sponsor the child, once this application is approved, the immigration authorities will process the child’s application for permanent residence.

To be an approved sponsor, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Reside in Canada.
  • Willing to sign a 10-year undertaking to be financially responsible for the child once he or she arrives in Canada.
